INCA TRAIL - TOP NOTCH SERVICE

You get what you pay for. This company is not the cheapest but it provides top quality service and equipment. Ours was a group of 16, the largest they can take for the Inca Trail. We had a team of 22 people taking care of us, between porters, kitchen personnel, tent guys, bathroom guy and our two excellent guides.

Everybody in our group was very pleased with Pachatusantrek. The meals were all sit down and great, especially impressive considering the setting and difficulties that come with getting them all the way there and ready.

The tents, sleeping bags, pads, dinner tent, 2 portable toilets couldn't have been any better. Among our folks we had experienced hikers and backpackers and they all praised the equipment. One of our hikers got into physical problems during one hike so we had to split the group in two because of impending nightfall; the forward group even sent porters back from our destination campsite - one of the guides remained with the back group helping our friend- to help us tend to him and get him to the campsite.

They also had an oxygen tank ready at the campsite which helped him a lot. I heard from others that this company takes very good care of their porters compared to others. It is sad but some companies squeeze all they can from these poor fellows and dont treat them right. We are planning on hiking Chocquequirao in a couple of years and will most definitely use them again.

I guess that coming back to a provider is the best proof of customer satisfaction. Remember to take many $5,$10 and $20 bills for tips, and to tip your porters and guides well, because they will do literally back and knees breaking work to take care of you.
